lyrics
WE WILL GET THERE
Run ten thousand miles, open up our heads
Drag 'em into piles, those will be our beds
Revolving thoughts will fade, it just takes some time
We will make the grade, we'll find the words to rhyme
We can get there, we can get there, we will get there
One day
I am not afraid, to tell you that I'm scared
Of walking in the shade, of being unprepared
We can get there, we can get there, we will get there
One day
It might get loud, we may fall silent
Among a crowd on a desert island
We'll tie our shoes and we will get there
It might get cold, we may be burning
We are old but we're still learning
We'll tie our shoes and we will get there
No we just can't refuse, we'll tie our shoes and we will get there
We can get there, we can get there, we will get there
Push it all away, reclaim it back again
Die another day, constrict the evil vein
Run ten thousand miles, open up our heads
Drag 'em into piles, those will be our beds
It might get loud, we may fall silent
Among a crowd on a desert island
We'll tie our shoes and we will get there
It might get cold, we may be burning
We are old but we're still learning
We'll tie our shoes and we will get there
No we just can't refuse, we'll tie our shoes and we will get there
Don't believe the name of their latest album; jangle-pop hooks and stacked grunge guitars are two of the Bay Area band's greatest gifts. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 16, 2023

The great underlying instrumentation paired with Florence's droll stream of consciousness lyrics make this album stand out. It feels so personal and confessional. Favorite tracks are Strong Feelings and Leafy. I've heard Scratchard Lanyard on alt radio and love that one as well. tofupotpie
